For two years X have been on HRT and her gender expression reflects her gender identity, she is perceived by society to be of a gender she identifies with. During the summer of 2016 she was refused by the bank to open an account and receive a credit card. The reason for denial stated by the bank was that her gender expression did not reflect the photo in the passport. X received a denial to open a credit card twice: in February 2017 and in June 2017. When she tried to open the account for the second time in June and was denied from it she was told by the staff of the bank that even if she comes to the bank with gender expression that looks like her photo in the passport they would still deny her from opening an account.
