Vulgar terms and slurs towards transgenders
were directed at victim over a period of several
months at a center that is meant to be a safe
place for recovery after and during mental
health difficulties. This was from other
participants using the service. Victim was asked
inappropriate questions about both their
sexuality and intimate parts of their body. Had
their breasts groped by a woman when
mentioned their discomfort with being touched
and was constantly compared to 'those ladyboy
prostitutes in Thailand' and was told that they
should go to Thailand and have their 'hole
turned into a pole'. Victim was told that all
crossdressers and transsexuals are asking for a
slagging, that victim will always be a woman no
matter what they do, and that asking to have
the male pronouns used was too much to ask of
people.

In a nightclub victim was approached by two
men, both in their late 20's, they asked them
'are you a boy or a girl' and before victim could
answer him, he proceeded to grope my chest
and say 'definitely a girl'. The two men walked
off but not before one of victim's friends had a
go at him for touching victim inappropriately.
The incident was reported to the bouncers who
threw them out, but nothing more was done.
