A transgender woman was discriminated against and not treated by a laboratory nurse. The laboratory nurse did not take a blood sample for the start of hormonal therapy even though the woman had a referral from a public sector hospital. Against the will of the woman, the nurse called a health care center, which had nothing to do with the treatment. Finally, the nurse asked the woman to go and have the blood sample taken at a nearby hospital. The woman went to another similar laboratory and the blood sample was taken without problems.
