A 36-year-old woman was discriminated against on grounds of her gender identity and expression at a notary office. She came to the notary to make a proxy on the name of her mother. Having a female appearance she still had male ID documents. However, she presented the notary a medical certificate with 'transsexualism' diagnosis and told her she was being in the process of obtaining new documents. Notary refused to serve the trans woman because "her appearance was different from the data in documents". When asked to issue the refusal to provide services in written, the notary refused to do so.
